Health grantmakers have expressed a keen interest in ensuring that Affordable Care Act (ACA) outreach and enrollment efforts are well-coordinated and well-designed. Philanthropy has a critical role to play in these activities. With support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, GIH convened this learning community for funders who have been supporting ACA outreach and enrollment efforts. On our May call, we discussed lessons funders have learned from targeted outreach efforts, including outreach to Latinos and to Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders. Guest speakers included Alison Betty of GMMB, Priscilla Huang of the Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum, and Manuela McDonough of the National Council of La Raza.
