Health Care for Youth Transitioning Out of Foster Care
More than 23,000 adolescents “age out” of the U.S. foster care system in any given year, a period of transition that marks an especially challenging time for an already vulnerable population. On this webinar, funders heard about the range of health care issues these young people face, examples of programs that assist them, and the ways in which philanthropy is making a difference in their lives. Speakers included Kathryn Evans Madden of United Community Services of Johnson County, Carla Gibson of the REACH Healthcare Foundation, and Bruce Lesley of First Focus.
