Integrative health utilizes conventional and complementary practices to address the full range of physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental influences that affect health. Many individuals, providers, organizations, and health care systems are integrating practices such as meditation, acupuncture, and yoga into both treatment and health promotion to provide a more comprehensive approach to prevention and wellness.

The Minneapolis Foundation’s Catalyst Initiative recently released the summary report of a gathering on primary prevention and integrative strategies for preventing diseases of despair, including suicide, alcoholism and other chemical dependency disorders.
The Health Foundation for Western and Central New York announced a new initiative to support children and families through trauma. Co-Creating Well-Being is a multi-year, three-phase initiative to help build community capacity to develop strategies to support children and families who have or are experiencing trauma.
