School Mental Health Demonstration Project
June 2010
In 2007, four Baltimore-based funders came together to support a school mental health demonstration project at two Baltimore City K-8 public schools, implemented and documented by the University of Maryland Center for School Mental Health. The overall goal of the project was to demonstrate the potential of offering a full continuum of environmental enhancement, stakeholder involvement, and evidence-based mental health promotion and intervention. The report below documents the project and findings and makes a number of recommendations for Baltimore City moving forward that may be applicable to many urban public school settings.
