SUMMARY:Improving Equitable Outcomes for Mothers and Children by Expanding the Doula Workforce     
DESCRIPTION:A number of states have made progress toward policy changes that would enable Medicaid reimbursement for doulas and other birthworkers. These initiatives are expected to help improve maternal and infant health outcomes\, especially among groups of people who face disproportionately high mortality rates. Leaders in the field discussed policy actions and explored opportunities for philanthropic engagement in the expansion of doula services.
