SUMMARY:Closing the Gap in Childhood Obesity: A Forum Without Walls
DESCRIPTION:The Clinton Health Matters Initiative\, in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and GIH\, hosted a daylong forum focused on addressing access and equity barriers to closing the gaps in childhood obesity in the United States. More than 250 thought leaders from business\, philanthropy\, health\, education\, and the nonprofit sectors gathered to focus on solutions to the policy and systems challenges that stand in the way of all kids having access to healthier foods\, physical activity\, and health care. The event was available on Livestream\, and fostered engagement via social media to reach an even wider audience. \nThere were four panel discussions on access and equity barriers\, as well as on specific strategies that have shown promising results. Panelists included leaders and provocateurs from a variety of sectors\, representing diverse perspectives. The forum opened a dialogue about investments and strategies that will help close health inequity gaps over the next decade and highlight creative\, out-of-the-box thinking and innovative solutions. \nRead the meeting agenda. \nWatch the Livestream.
