SUMMARY:Leadership Discussion on Health Equity
DESCRIPTION:The events of the last few months have led to numerous calls for action that are being met by new initiatives and increased support for health equity. We find ourselves in a moment in which substantive progress towards achieving health equity is possible through targeted and coordinated efforts. On this call\, GIH President and CEO Cara James held a strategic discussion with philanthropic leaders to discuss how institutions are broadening\, deepening\, or recasting efforts to achieve health equity to meet this moment; to identify opportunities to align resources and coordinate planning within philanthropy and with allied sectors; and to foster connections between funders engaged in health equity and social justice work to help increase learning and collaboration\, and to achieve the greatest impact. Designed for open conversation with an eye toward collective action\, this was the first of several discussions GIH will hold.
