Archstone Foundation is seeking a visionary and mission-driven President and CEO to provide leadership to this important organization focused on older Californians and their caregivers. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional record of achievement and knowledge in the ways that systems of care impact this population. The new President and CEO must be a trusted leader with strong communication skills and provide a dynamic presence in the rapidly evolving California aging policy environment. A history of deep commitment to the principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion is also essential.

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $275,000-$325,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Archstone Foundation offers a full range of benefits for employees and their qualified dependents, including but not limited to:
    • 100% coverage of employee health benefit premiums.
    • A company sponsored 403(b) retirement plan with a 1:1 match.
    • Vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays.

Archstone Foundation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is deeply committed to the principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Applicants from groups that contribute to a diverse work environment are strongly encouraged to apply. Thank you for your interest in the Archstone Foundation and its work in improving the lives of older Californians and their caregivers.

Responsibilities

The President and CEO will work effectively with an active Board of Directors to implement the vision of the foundation and is the leader of seven talented staff members. The CEO is also the main liaison with important state officials and service provider executives to improve services to older persons throughout the state, as well as working with our philanthropic partners to carry out our mission.

This new leader will be responsible for working with the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO), Accounting Firm, and Finance & Investment Committee to provide oversight and cohesive management of the $110 million portfolio that funds the foundation’s grantmaking and operations. Since this is a set pool of capital, fundraising is not involved and the responsibility to both maintain and grow the capital is therefore important.

About the Organization

Archstone Foundation is committed to improving the health and well-being of older Californians and their caregivers so that all older Californians have access to high-quality coordinated care that effectively integrates health and social services. For almost 40 years, Archstone has used grantmaking, coalition building, and thought leadership to focus on the fastest growing population in the state: older people. In addition, we work to ensure that future systems of care meet the needs of historically marginalized people, are culturally and linguistically appropriate, and serve to reduce disparities in health and well-being that blight our society today.
