WittKieffer is pleased to work with Healthcare Georgia Foundation on its search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Healthcare Georgia Foundation (HGF), located in Atlanta, GA, seeks a collaborative, mission-oriented, hands-on finance executive. This opportunity is available due to the upcoming retirement of the incumbent, who has served in this role for twenty years. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as an executive leader of a statewide foundation seeking to achieve health equity for all Georgians.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the President of Healthcare Georgia Foundation, the CFO will be directly responsible for all the financial and accounting operations of the Foundation. This individual must ensure best practices in fiduciary management, accountability, transparency, and internal control. As the most senior finance leader, this executive will assess the current state of the organization’s finances and identify opportunities for improvements and greater efficiencies. This leader will also oversee the Foundation’s investments, working closely with the President, the Foundation’s AFI committee, and investment/advisor managers. The CFO will serve as the primary point of contact with external vendors and partners including audit firms, investment firms, and information technology vendors. As HGF continues to implement diversity initiatives throughout the organization’s operations, services, and partnerships, this leader will help to identify areas of opportunity to increase HGF’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The executive will serve as a strong mentor and people manager seeking out opportunities to train and further develop staff.

The CFO will also lead and enhance HGF’s efforts in strategic health impact investments. They will ensure a hands-on approach to working with partners and identifying potential long term opportunities for success.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience leading an accounting and/or finance function, as well as strong experience managing budgets and investments. Experience working in a nonprofit, community, philanthropic, or health care organization is preferred. The executive will be community oriented with a passion for the mission of HGF. The successful candidate will be viewed as collaborative and an excellent communicator, both verbal and written. They will have experience managing a small team and driving change.

Since its inception, HGF has awarded over 1,100 grants totaling more than $78 million in charitable activities. In 2018, HGF began to expand into health impact investing.
