The Program Manager is a full-time staff member who works closely with senior program and administrative staff to provide evaluative, analytical, and learning support for the foundation. The position will report to the CEO in collaboration with the Directors, and help achieve strategic goals through the following responsibilities:

Salary: $40,000-$50,000 based on experience

Responsibilities

Organizational  Evaluation  {50%}

  • Integrate available and relevant data using grants/contracts management tools including WizeHive, MySidewalk and Salesforce (as a Customer Relationship Mgt tool).
  • Conduct developmental evaluation for organizational learning and adaptation.
  • Practice equitable and trust-based evaluation processes.
  • Compile data, including through annual stakeholder surveys, for annual reports and other communications.

Data Analysis and Communication  {25%}

  • Analyze internal data and track progress for internal decision-making and reporting.
  • Compile data for staff and board reports, including annual evaluation metrics.
  • Analyze external data and convey information through storytelling and data visualization.
  • Analyze Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) data in contracts, grants and consultants.
  • Share information collected through evaluation processes with partners and community stakeholders.

Internal Learning Activities & Engagement (25%)

  • Manage adult-learning and professional development opportunities for Vitalyst staff.
  • Facilitate organizational journey advancement in Diversity, Inclusion, & Equity.
  • Manage consultant(s) to advance internal work.
  • Support the internal budgeting process in collaboration with staff.

Competencies/Knowledge/Capacity

  • Become conversant about foundation programs, evaluation, and communication efforts.
  • Knowledge and experience with different types of evaluation, such as survey development, focus groups, and developmental evaluation.
  • Conduct learning and evaluation efforts throughout the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to weave work being conducted under the direction of multiple directors.
  • Document observations and activities related to program work to capture lessons learned and inform future work.
  • Help support WizeHive grants management system to track grants and other programmatic work.
  • Prepare data reports using WizeHive and the Vitalyst Data Dashboard (using My Sidewalk platform).
  • Support adult learning and professional development throughout the organization.
  • Support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training and reflections.
  • Conduct annual stakeholder survey and assess results.
  • Analyze and compile data to prepare annual evaluation metrics for the Board of Trustees.
  • Ability to visualize and write narrative around internal and external data to achieve effective storytelling.
  • Experience working with contractors to accelerate work in-house.

Required Skills

  • Policy analysis, program evaluation, and/or research.
  • Strong oral, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Establish respectful and collegial relationships with a wide variety of people (e.g., undocumented refugees; city council members; academic researchers; community organizers; Board of Trustees)
  • Manage complex and competing requirements and interests.
  • Understand, communicate with and work well with representatives from grant recipient organizations.
  • Disciplined, self-starter.
  • Understanding the inter-disciplinary nature of social determinants of health.
