COVID-19 and Systemic Inequality: Community-led Lessons for Funders
April 13, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET

Cosponsored with Funders Concerned About AIDS, Elton John AIDS Foundation, Africa Grantmakers’ Affinity Group, Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties, Funders for LGBTQ Issues, Funders for Reproductive Equity, Global Philanthropy Project, United Philanthropy Forum, Washington AIDS Partnership, and Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers

This webinar discussed a new report that focuses on the systemic inequalities that while magnified during COVID-19 have always been a reality for marginalized populations, including, but not limited to, those living with or at risk of HIV.

The report, commissioned by Funders Concerned About AIDS and the Elton John AIDS Foundation, leverages learnings from community-based responses during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly from organizations representing or led by LGBTQ and communities of color in the United States, and key populations globally.

Speakers included Judy Chang of INPUD; David Clark of Frontline AIDS; Jesse Milan, Jr. of AIDS United; Staša Plećaš of Sex Workers’ Rights Advocacy Network; Marco Antonio Quiroga of Contigo Fund; and Dafina Ward of Southern AIDS Coalition.
