Turning the Tide on Critical Coverage Losses

August 25 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. ET

Recent estimates confirm that the COVID-19 pandemic and accompanying economic downturn are causing the most significant health insurance coverage losses in this country’s history. According to research published by the National Center for Coverage Innovation and the Census Bureau, over five million American workers are losing health insurance since the onset of the pandemic. This is a particularly serious concern for communities of color, which are disproportionately affected by the pandemic and experiencing deep losses in coverage at this critical time. This webinar provided a briefing on the factors that have shaped the current landscape, what can be done to reverse these coverage losses, and how philanthropy can make a difference for the most vulnerable members of our society. Speakers included Juliet Choi of the Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum, Stan Dorn of Families USA, Marjorie Innocent of the NAACP, and Steven T. Lopez of UnidosUS.
