SUMMARY:2015 GIH Annual Conference: Call for Sessions
DESCRIPTION:Pathways to Health\nOne of the most exciting things about working in health philanthropy today is witnessing the plethora of strategies that health funders have at their disposal. Most grantmakers share a similar vision: for individuals\, families\, and communities to achieve health\, resilience\, healing\, and well-being. But there are many routes to that destination. By confronting upstream and downstream issues\, funders can enhance prevention and wellness at the individual and community level\, improve access to quality health care across all stages of life\, empower consumers\, and advance health equity. \nFunders have many tools at their disposal to achieve these goals. They can experiment with many tactics\, including convening\, grantmaking\, investing\, and policy change. And they can work with an ever-expanding field of allies and partners\, against the backdrop of this nation’s rapidly changing demographics. Although these varied approaches may seem scattershot to some\, they all help create pathways to better health and health care. \nGrantmakers In Health (GIH) has long believed that health philanthropy’s diverse voices and viewpoints deepen our understanding of health and strengthen our ability to fashion effective solutions. Our 2015 annual conference will be a time to weave together the various threads of philanthropy’s work. We are looking for sessions that explore how to act upon broad definitions of health\, embrace new players\, integrate competing approaches\, leverage the assets of different sectors\, and accelerate change. \nWe welcome proposals for: \n\nCall for Sessions Instructions for Breakout Sessions\n\nPDF Format Call for Sessions Instructions for Site Visits\n\nPDF Format Call for Sessions Instructions for Film Screenings\n\nProposals must be submitted by July 25\, 2014. GIH’s Call for Sessions process is entirely Web-based\, and we will not accept proposals via fax\, mail\, or e-mail. \nSubmit proposals here. We recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox when accessing the Call for Sessions site.
