SUMMARY:Fifth Annual Public-Private Collaborations in Rural Health Meeting
DESCRIPTION:2017 Agenda \nGrantmakers In Health\, the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy\, and the National Rural Health Association held fifth annual Public-Private Collaborations in Rural Health meeting in Washington\, DC from June 1-2\, 2017. \nSince 2012\, the Public-Private Collaborations in Rural Health meeting has convened over 120 public and private foundations\, researchers\, and policymakers to discuss federal programs and foundation-led initiatives in rural areas. The meeting presents an opportunity to connect\, share\, and discuss how combined efforts can produce better outcomes for rural residents and communities. On the five-year anniversary of the partnership\, participants reflected on collectively working to improve rural health through ideas\, research\, and aligned funding. \nParticipants engaged with high-ranking program and policy experts within the government and will discuss issues and projects relevant to improving rural health. Participants also networked with peers and learn about rural activities initiated since the last meeting. A special session\, “Boundary Spanning Leadership and Innovative Financing and Stewardship Models for the Promotion of Health Equity\,” was held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday\, June 2. \n\nMeeting Location \nThe meeting was held from Thursday\, June 1 at 9 a.m. until Friday\, June 2 at 12:30 p.m. at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington\, DC. \nMayflower Hotel\n1127 Conecticut Avenue NW\nWashington\, DC 20036
