SUMMARY:Picking Up the Pace in Healthy Living Policy and Evaluation
DESCRIPTION:Washington\, DC \n \nThis strategy session was part of the 2014 GIH Fall Forum. \n9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Registration and continental breakfast 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.) \nIn communities across the country\, those working hard to promote healthy lifestyles and reverse the obesity epidemic are seeing promising signs of progress. However\, there is still much work to be done. A recent GIH scan of the field found that public policy and evaluation are two areas where health funders can help make significant headway. This meeting allowed participants to explore federal\, state\, and local policy opportunities; to engage in thoughtful debate about the role of government and industry in promoting change; to learn innovative evaluation techniques and strategies; and to consider how evaluation can better inform grantmaker investments and priorities. \n\nREGISTRATION \nRegistration Fees \nGIH Funding Partners: $200 ($350 if attending both days of the Fall Forum) \nNon-Funding Partners: $400 ($700 if attending both days of the Fall Forum) \n\nHOTEL INFORMATION \nHamilton Crowne Plaza\n1001 14th Street\, NW\nWashington\, DC 20005 \nRelated Content\n\nHEAL Policy Trends and Opportunites_Chart; ChangeLab Solutions – PDF document\, 748 KB\nAgenda – Picking Up the Pace in Healthy Living Policy and Evaluation – PDF document\, 208 KB\nPolicy Trends: Opportunities for a Greater Funder Role – PDF document\, 1870 KB\nLooking Local: Windows of Opportunity to Promote Healthy Living – PDF document\, 1432 KB\nFree Market or Government Regulation – Cardello – PDF document\, 3473 KB\nFree Market or Government Regulation – Whitsell – PDF document\, 874 KB\nEvaluation: Measuring Success and Improving Philanthropic Investments – PDF document\, 1277 KB
