Issue Focus – Data-Driven Approaches to Achieving Health Equity
On the second day of our 2019 Fall Forum meeting, Translating Evidence Into Action: Data-Driven Approaches to Achieving Health Equity, GIH convened grantmakers to explore innovative ways to use data to advance health equity, promote community engagement, and drive policy change. Expert speakers and participating health funders contributed to a rich, wide ranging discussion of philanthropic strategies to both build a stronger evidence base and utilize that knowledge more effectively to achieve health equity goals.

Views from the Field – Principles for Engaging Youth as Partners to Build Healthier Communities
With the right supports youth can engage in real world experiences that contribute to health in their communities in the present and develop the civic habits and leadership skills necessary to become future leaders. Providing youth with these experiences will make their communities healthier today and tomorrow.

Nominate a Rising Star for the 2020 Terrance Keenan Institute for Emerging Leaders in Health Philanthropy
The nomination period is now open for the Terrance Keenan Institute for Emerging Leaders in Health Philanthropy. Founded by GIH with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the institute serves as a living legacy through which Terrance Keenan’s words and deeds will continue to inspire future leaders in the field. Terrance Keenan Institute fellows will spend two days with seasoned leaders from the field of health philanthropy, many of whom are past recipients of GIH’s Terrance Keenan Leadership Award in Health Philanthropy. The institute will take place October 6-7, 2020, in Washington, DC. Nominations must be received by February 20. To learn more, click here.

The 2020 GIH annual conference, "Creating a Healthy Tomorrow," will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from June 17-June 19, 2020. Interested in attending?
