Firearm Violence Prevention Learning Community: Centering Community Leadership

Monday, May 13, 2024, from 3:00 – 4:30 pm ET

The people closest to the harms of firearm violence are in the best position to identify effective solutions. This second virtual convening of the Firearm Violence Prevention Learning Community focused on the critical importance of community leadership in crafting and implementing firearm violence prevention efforts. Reginald (Reggie) Moore, Director of Community Safety Policy and Engagement for the Comprehensive Injury Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a seasoned expert in youth outreach and engagement and supporting local violence prevention programs, served as a featured speaker.

Building on the energy and momentum that emerged from the 2023 pre-conference session, Public Health Approaches to Firearm Violence Prevention, GIH created a Learning Community focused on philanthropic strategies to prevent firearm-related deaths and injuries. It is not too late to join!
