What:

Bullying goes well beyond the occasional squabbles and fights that children and youth may experience as they age. Instead, it represents an imbalance in power that often manifests through intentional, harmful behavior that may be repeated over time. Bullying may occur through physical, verbal, or, increasingly in recent years, cyber activities.

On this webinar, participants learned more about bullying, including the effects and ramifications it has on the lives of the people it touches. Presentations included effective programs and strategies geared toward its prevention, including the federal government’s “Stop Bullying Now!” campaign and Federal Partners Steering Committee activities, as well as foundation-sponsored prevention efforts. Additional opportunities for philanthropic support of bullying prevention were also explored.
