Grantmakers around the country are embracing collective impact as a rigorous approach to bringing together a group of actors from different sectors to commit to a common agenda for solving a specific social problem. While collective impact can lead to meaningful results at scale, it requires new mindset shifts and a long term commitment from all participating partners. The collective impact approach is particularly relevant in the health sector, with new reforms underway and continuing complexity in the health space.

This webinar presented the collective impact model, and explored the role of funders in creating and sustaining the collective process. Participants heard from health grantmakers implementing a collective impact initiative to reduce infant mortality by mobilizing, facilitating, coordinating, and increasing engagement of multi-sector partners. Speakers included: John Kania and Jennifer Splansky Juster of FSG, and Kathleen Holmes and Melissa Logsdon of Missouri Foundation for Health.
