Cosponsored with Empire Health Foundation and Grantmakers In Aging

The importance and availability of data has never been higher than today. All too often, however, data analysis is viewed as the domain of specialists, limiting opportunities for learning. Although randomized controlled trials and external evaluations remain the gold standard, there are easier ways to collect empirical data that can be used to improve decisionmaking. This presentation takes as its starting point Dr. Atul Gawande’s charge: “If you count something you find interesting, you will learn something interesting.” Funders reviewed a simple yet effective measurement approach for senior health,  followed by an interactive exercise to practice and build confidence. Speakers included John Feather of Grantmakers In Aging and Mike Yeaton of Empire Health Foundation.
