Funding for Cultural Change: Creating and Meeting the Moment

July 9, 2018 3:00 pm Eastern Time

Cosponsored by Funders’ Committee for Civic Participation, Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers, Economic Opportunity Funders, Environmental Grantmakers Association, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, Health and Environmental Funders Network, Neighborhood Funders' Group, Philanthropy New York, United Philanthropy Forum, and Women Donors Network

Over the last few years, several cultural moments, such as #MeToo and responses to police violence, have raised the national visibility of ongoing social justice struggles. These unique cultural moments have opened new and earnest conversations about the type of country we want to become. This discussion explored how grassroots leaders have leveraged or helped create these moments to build long-term power in their communities and considered how funders have been supporting this work thus far.
