Beyond the Numbers: Rethinking Race, Research, and Health Equity

Decades of research have documented pervasive health disparities based on race and ethnicity. What role can health grantmakers play to expand the evidence base and support efforts to collect, disseminate, and translate data about racial inequities? What can funders also learn from practitioners about embedding racial equity in research and using community-based methodologies that place diverse voices at the center? This webinar explored how philanthropy can use data and research to advance equity and address the intersections of race, culture, and health. Speakers included Altinay Cortes and Kim Glassman of Equal Measure and Tasha Golden of the University of Louisville.
