Building Evidence with a Health Equity Lens

Foundations are deeply invested in measuring the impacts of their grantmaking and supporting evidence-based practices to improve health. An increasing number of foundations are also committed to moving upstream and advancing health equity in every area of their foundation’s work. How can funders combine these goals and bring a health equity lens to collecting evidence and conducting evaluation? This webinar shared promising practices for using data to inform health equity strategies, meaningfully engaging communities in evaluation and research, and designing metrics to assess progress toward health equity. Speakers included Gabriela Alcalde of Richmond Memorial Health Foundation, Brandon Coffee-Borden of Community Science, Vivian Tseng of the William T. Grant Foundation, and Samantha Tucker of Healthcare Georgia Foundation.
