Post-Election Philanthropy: Votes, Values, and Vision
Cosponsored by Economic Opportunity Funders, Grantmakers In Health; and Grantmakers for Children, Youth & Families
Assessing the new policy and funding environment that will be created after the 2012 elections will be critical as we build compelling and successful agendas for advancing our work. The Economic Opportunity Funders, Grantmakers for Children, Youth & Families (GCYF), and Grantmakers In Health (GIH), invite you to attend Post-Election Philanthropy: Votes, Values, and Vision on December 17-18, 2012, in Washington, DC.
This timely briefing will help inform grantmakers about the outcomes of the national and state elections and what they suggest in terms of opportunities and challenges for the short and medium term. It will also provide a forum for funders to identify strategies for individual and collective action. In addition, several concurrent roundtable discussions will be offered to enable grantmakers to delve more deeply into the impact of the election on specific issues. Roundtable sponsors include GIST, GCYF, GIH, Neighborhood Funders Group's Working Group on Labor & Community Partnerships, Workforce Matters, and Asset Funders Network.
This meeting is free of charge and open to foundation representatives and philanthropic advisors only. Registration will open in September.
Participants are expected to arrange their own travel and hotel accommodations as needed. A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved at a nearby hotel, the Washington Hilton, at the rate of $219/night for December 16 and 17. To reserve a room at this rate, call the hotel directly at 1-202-483-3000 and provide them with the group code: 60B.
As always, please feel free to share this invitation with other funders and philanthropic advisors who might be interested in attending. We hope to see you in December!
