Exposure to environmental toxins, whether through unclean drinking water or polluted air, can have significant, lifelong effects on the health and wellness of children. All too often these environmental hazards are most prevalent in low-income communities of color, acting as major contributors to health disparities. This webinar discussed how exposure to environmental toxins effects the health of all children, why they are often an unseen barrier to the work of health funders, and how grantmakers can incorporate an environmental health lens into their efforts to build healthier communities. Speakers included: Ellen Braff-Guajardo of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Ruth Hennig of The John Merck Fund, and Nse Witherspoon of the Children’s Environmental Health Network.
