The end of the COVID-19 federal public health emergency in January 2022 will present the largest health coverage transition event since the first open enrollment of the Affordable Care Act. Leaders in the field discussed the challenges this presents to states and explored the strategies state officials and consumer advocates are designing to promote coverage retention. Speakers included Emily Blanding of the National Conference on State Legislatures, Tricia Brooks of the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families, Lindsey Browning of the National Association of Medicaid Directors, and Rachel Rosales from Community Catalyst.
