In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, tornado season has already begun, early forecasts are predicting four major hurricanes this year, 23 states are at risk of moderate to major flooding this spring, and an intense wildfire season is expected. The second in a series of seven webinars addressing pressing issues related to the role of philanthropy in COVID-19 response and recovery, this webinar explored what effective disaster philanthropy looks like during a pandemic and how funders can respond to other disasters this year while still supporting needs related to COVID-19. Speakers included Leonard Marcus from the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative at Harvard University and Regine A. Webster from Center for Disaster Philanthropy. Sally Ray from the Center for Disaster Philanthropy moderated the discussion.
