Gender-Affirming Care 101

October 28, 2022

1:00 p.m. ET

The World Health Organization defines gender-affirming care as a range of social, psychological, behavioral, and medical interventions “designed to support and affirm an individual’s gender identity” when it conflicts with the gender they were assigned at birth. During this 90-minute webinar, experts explained the need for and impact of this care, particularly from a provider’s perspective. Participants learned what gender-affirming care is and is not, the challenges it faces, and the relevance of philanthropy. Speakers include Kellan Baker of the Whitman-Walker Institute, Katie Keith of Georgetown University, and Stephanie Quinn of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
