Millions of Children Still at Risk of Losing Health Insurance Coverage

May 26, 2022| 1pm Eastern

The unwinding of the public health emergency looms, threatening to disrupt Medicaid coverage and health care access for an estimated 16 million people as early as August 2022. Although the Biden Administration recently announced its proposal for fixing the so-called “family glitch,” which would improve insurance coverage and affordability for many, there remains an urgent need for philanthropic organizations to help prepare for what’s ahead. This on-demand webinar featured the latest updates on changes that are coming to Medicaid and CHIP, and on ways to address the coverage needs of children and families in the months to come. Presenters included Joan Alker, Executive Director of the Center for Children and Families at Georgetown University; and Jessie Mandle, Deputy Director and Senior Health Policy Analyst at Voices for Utah Children.
