GIH Annual Conference Reimagined Content for "Creating a Healthy Tomorrow"

This content was originally slated for the 2020 GIH Annual Conference on Health Philanthropy in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The emergence of COVID-19 has exposed the many ways health systems and societal structures impede equitable health for all. At times like these, it is crucial for decisionmakers to hear from health professionals, grassroots organizers, and directly impacted communities who are working together to advance equity solutions. Such advocacy does not come naturally to health professionals, many of whom are most comfortable operating within their areas of expertise. The participants joined a candid discussion with health funders and advocates about efforts to mobilize the health sector in support of social justice movements. Speakers included Caroline Brunton of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Lili Farhang of Human Impact Partners, and Sandra Witt of The California Endowment.
