Philanthropic Action for Children’s Health Equity

Nemours Children’s Health and Grantmakers In Health cosponsored this invitational virtual meeting, which issued a call to action for the advancement of mental, emotional, and behavioral (MEB) health for children, youth, and their caregivers. The program was inspired by alarming trends in MEB needs among children and the emergence of recent federal initiatives that would build more equitable approaches to children’s physical and mental health.
The convening engaged funders from across the country in a conversation about a potential portfolio of aligned strategies with public and private partners. Breakout groups discussed challenges and opportunities related to data, research, payment reform, and workforce. Feedback gathered during the meeting will be used to develop a report outlining options for further collaboration among philanthropic organizations and public entities.
