Policies to Support Caregivers: Opportunities for Philanthropy

Cosponsored with Grantmakers In Aging

Supporting over 40 million family caregivers in the United States requires effective and innovative policies at the local, state, and national levels. Philanthropy has played a key role in supporting policy change for caregivers, from supporting tools, resources, and reports like the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine report, Families Caring for an Aging America, to convening stakeholders through statewide task forces and the newly launched Home Alone Alliance. In this webinar, participants will learn about the current state of family caregiving policy and efforts to create new and innovative policies across the country. Some of these new and exciting efforts include the work of the newly convened RAISE Act Advisory Council, the RAISE Act Resource and Dissemination Center, and the Home Alone Alliance. This webinar will also explore the opportunities for collaborative policy partnerships and the strategies available to grantmakers to better support caregivers. Speakers include Susan Reinhard of AARP Public Policy Institute and Center to Champion Nursing in America, Rani Snyder of The John A. Hartford Foundation, and Carol Zernial of WellMed Charitable Foundation.
