GIH’s Peer Review process engages an experienced team of foundation leaders who bring “outside eyes” to consider the strategy and operations of another foundation. Team members, along with the scope and focus of the review, are selected in close consultation with the sponsoring foundation. This process, facilitated by GIH staff, provides funders with an opportunity to receive onsite, in-depth advice about a variety of grantmaking and operational issues from some of the field’s most respected practitioners. Peer Review participants describe their experiences in two recent Views from the Field articles: Peer Review: A Reflective Look at Our Grantmaking Operations and The Benefits of External Eyes.
