The CEO of AIDS Alabama, leads and directs the achievement of the organization’s mission, strategic plan, annual goals and budget, program development, and financial goals. The CEO oversees the policies adopted by the Board in accordance with HRSA guidelines for Federally Qualified Health Centers. The CEO serves as an ex officio member of the Board of Directors. They will inspire and guide the team, think strategically about how to advance both mission and sustainability, raise resources in support of the mission, promote best practices, and serve as a leader for affordable accessible health care.

AIDS Alabama’s next CEO will be a proven visionary leader with a minimum of five to ten years’ progressive leadership experience and, most importantly, with a deep and abiding passion for the mission and communities served by AIDS Alabama. A master’s degree in public health, business, planning, or a related field is preferred.

AIDS Alabama offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Compensation for this position is anticipated to be between $190,000-$220,000 on an annual basis and will be commensurable with experience.

Alabama currently has more than 16,000 people living with HIV, and the services provided by AIDS Alabama and its partners assist more than half of that huge number every year. Through its health and wellness programs, AIDS Alabama provides services to those directly or potentially affected by HIV. As part of a comprehensive approach to treatment, education, and prevention of HIV, AIDS Alabama provides housing, health care services, health insurance premium assistance, and support groups designed to empower community members living with HIV/AIDS. AIDS Alabama also offers comprehensive Prevention Programs, including HIV and STI testing and treatment, counseling, and outreach to at-risk communities.
