We’re looking for an exceptional Program Manager to support our signature in-person convening, The Summit, and lead several dynamic peer learning and action communities convening executives from across our member network.  This is a highly relational role to support influential and inspiring leaders in the non-profit faith-based sector.

The Role

LSA is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Program Manager, Leadership and Growth to drive the operational excellence and relationship stewardship behind our most impactful programs. This role blends convening design, executive-level relationship management, and program management — offering the opportunity to shape signature convenings, cultivate corporate partnerships, and power a growing peer-learning ecosystem for leaders across the health and human services sector.

You will report directly to the Senior Director, Member Experience and Leadership and Growth and work in close partnership with a growing roster of national corporate partners and member CEOs and C-suite executives across our nationwide network. Internally, you will coordinate across LSA’s development, communications, and policy teams to ensure Leadership and Growth is integrated into the organization’s broader strategic agenda.

The right person for this role brings a mix of skills: project management discipline, relationship-building instincts and comfort with managing logistics and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

Convening Planning and Execution

  • Serve as Logistics Lead for our signature in-person convening, The Summit, bringing together 150 executives from some of the nation’s largest health and human services organizations.
  • Plan and execute all onsite venue and session logistics — lodging, AV, catering, staff support, and more — to ensure a seamless three-day experience.
  • Forecast and track the convening’s budget, revenue, and expenses in alignment with the P&L statement.
  • Coordinate with LSA’s communications team on convening communications, including registration, invitations, agendas, onsite app, and event summary
  • Support content delivery, session and agenda design, and member/speaker outreach led by the Senior Director, Leadership and Growth, as needed.

Corporate Partners Stewardship

  • Cultivate and steward Corporate Partner relationships, delivering exceptional service and building transformative, mission-aligned partnerships— maintaining regular communication, following through on commitments, and deepening trust over time
  • Manage the tracking and fulfillment of partner benefits, including invoicing, coordinating speaking opportunities, scheduling promotional marketing, and managing event registration.
  • Research prospective mission-aligned Corporate Partners, preparing and curating investment opportunities for presentation alongside the Senior Director.

Peer Learning and Action Strategic Initiatives

  • Serve as staff partner to several peer learning and action communities or focus groups, meeting monthly virtually and convening executives across topics such as finance, technology, and artificial intelligence to discuss best practices and opportunities for shared action
  • Support design and facilitation to drive adoption of key practices and policies through innovative programming such as interactive focus groups or virtual convenings
  • Support two annual in-person convenings of 30–50 executives from peer learning communities, partnering with and coaching peer volunteer board structures during planning and implementation

Peer Learning & Networking Platform Strategy and Operations

  • Serve as Strategy and Operations Lead for our growing peer learning and networking platform.
  • Drive member adoption through personalized outreach and clear value communication, in collaboration with the Communications team.
  • Promote internal staff adoption through training, refreshers, and platform updates.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience, with demonstrated strength in convenings, project management or support, or program coordination
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing track of commitments or quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clearly for diverse audiences — from member organizations to corporate partners
  • Demonstrated relationship-building ability: the capacity to build trust with executive leaders and a diverse range of stakeholders, follow through consistently, and sustain relationships over time
  • Strong project and event management capabilities including experience supporting convenings, learning communities or programs
  • Required Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferably related to social studies, healthcare, business or nonprofit management
  • Familiarity with budget planning and revenue/expense tracking
  • Familiarity with conference planning software (e.g., Eventbrite, Cvent) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM software is a plus.

Compensation and Location

Salary is commensurate with experience. LSA offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement contributions, and generous paid time off.

LSA’s national office is based in Washington, DC and we are only reviewing candidates in the DC metro region who can work in a hybrid arrangement. Travel — primarily to convenings — is expected at approximately 5 to 10 percent.

Application Process

To apply, please submit a resume, cover letter and salary requirement that speaks specifically to your interest in this role and your relevant experience. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered. We are reviewing applications on a rolling basis and encourage early submission. Submission email: awashington@lutheranservices.org
