To inform positive change, Grantmakers in Health (GIH) and the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) are partnering to reimagine a unified vision for health and well-being in rural America. The Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) was engaged to conduct a landscape analysis and facilitate listening sessions with rural health stakeholders at the local, state, and national levels.

People of color, particularly Black and Indigenous women, death from pregnancy-related causes has reached crisis proportions. New research from the Commonwealth Fund evaluates a wide range of community-based approaches could improve maternal health outcomes and patients’ experiences while also potentially reducing costs.

Well Being Trust: March 2021
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) released “A Guide for Health Systems to Save Lives from ‘Deaths of Despair’ and Improve Community Well-Being.” IHI partnered with Well Being Trust to evolve a set of recommendations and guidance for health care systems to improve mental health and well-being in the communities they serve, focusing specifically on saving lives from deaths of despair.
New York State Health Foundation: March 2021
