CEO Working Group Webinar: New CEOs
VirtualIt is a difficult time for many, but especially for those who are new to their role. Grantmakers In Health is pleased to convene the CEO Working Group in October, to offer foundation leaders who have been in their position for less than five years the opportunity to discuss the challenges they are facing as new CEOs with one another and seasoned leaders in the field. These calls are open to GIH Funding Partner CEOs, Presidents, Executive Directors, or the highest-ranking health staff at multi-issue foundations. During these candid, confidential conversations, philanthropic leaders share information, swap strategies, raise concerns, and ask for one another’s advice. Reach out to Ann Rodgers to learn more.

Content Creators as Trusted Messengers: A Primer for Health Funders
VirtualContent creators are playing an increasingly influential role in how people encounter and engage with health information. But for many health funders, knowing where to start, including how to identify credible creators and how to engage with them, can be a challenge.
Jointly hosted by Grantmakers In Health and Media Impact Funders, this webinar will orient funders to the creator landscape, offer guidance on finding and vetting creators, and explore ways to begin building partnerships. Drawing on the experiences of funders and practitioners, the discussion will address emerging questions and offer concrete next steps for funders at different stages of readiness.

SNAP Funder Working Group: Advocacy Opportunities Post-Election
VirtualOne year after the passage of H.R. 1, analysis from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities finds that at least 1.5 million fewer children — and more than 4.5 million fewer people overall — are receiving SNAP food assistance. SNAP participation has dropped in every state except Alaska, and by as much as 10 percent in some states. The harms to communities will continue to grow as states fully implement eligibility restrictions. This Working Group Call will provide a space for funders to share where they are focusing efforts, where they see the biggest funding gaps, and where there are opportunities to align with other funders. We will also use this time to gather input on future discussion topics and determine the Working Group meeting cadence going forward.
