Foundations Respond to Crisis: Lasting Change? documents shifts in how foundations identify applicants, reductions in administrative burdens for grantees, increases in unrestricted funding, and new efforts to advance racial equity.

Survey Findings: Perceptions of Health Funders

In July and August 2025, Grantmakers In Health (GIH) conducted research to help health funders better understand how they are viewed by the public. The research included an online survey of engaged voters nationwide and an online focus group with Washington, DC, policy professionals.  

An overview of the survey and online focus group findings is now available to all GIH Funding Partners. In addition, this overview was presented on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the 2025 GIH Health Policy Exchange in Arlington, VA.

2024 Health Equity Survey: Understanding the Changing Landscape

In 2024, Grantmakers In Health (GIH) surveyed its Funding Partners to understand how their health equity work has evolved. The survey consisted of 40 questions including demographic information, program focus areas, partner engagement, organizational strategy, priority population, successes, and challenges. This report summarizes findings from the Health Equity Survey titled, “Understanding the Changing Landscape.”
