About the Organization
Insulin for Life USA (IFL USA) operates at the intersection of global health equity, environmental sustainability, and humanitarian response. We address a persistent and often overlooked crisis: lack of access to life-sustaining insulin and diabetes management supplies for vulnerable individuals worldwide. In many low-resource countries—and among underserved populations in the U.S.—people with diabetes face life-threatening barriers to care, simply because they cannot afford or access the supplies they need to survive.
Since our founding, IFL USA has developed a unique, high-impact model: we collect unopened, unexpired insulin and diabetes supplies that would otherwise be discarded—often due to insurance switches, prescription changes, or patient loss—and redistribute (grant) them through vetted healthcare providers and organizations across more than 21 countries, including the U.S. This approach reduces harmful medical waste while transforming surplus into survival for tens of thousands of people each year. We also play a critical role in emergency response, including natural disasters, refugee displacement, and supply chain disruptions, where immediate access to insulin can mean the difference between life and death.
