Aligning Foundation Communications to Restore Trust in Public Health

Monday, May 23 at 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Eastern

We are experiencing an unprecedented erosion of trust in public health expertise caused by a host of reasons, including misinformation and disinformation. Communications staff in health philanthropy play a vital role in assisting their organizations – and, most importantly, the grantees and communities they serve – with addressing this new normal following the COVID-19 pandemic.

People responsible for external communications work at their foundation or corporate giving program joined this virtual convening to discuss the problem and the impacts we are seeing in communities across the country. By exchanging ideas and sharing evidence-based communications practices, we identified common challenges and possible solutions to rebuilding trust among key institutions and supporting the communities we serve.

This was a unique opportunity to connect with peers as this is the launch of a series of candid, confidential, and unscripted discussions designed to strengthen our alignment and explore the potential for collective action.
