GIH Announces New Board Members

Patricia Baker, Patricia Doykos, Octavio Martinez, and Scott Moyer Elected to GIH Board

WASHINGTON, DC-- Grantmakers In Health (GIH) is pleased to announce that the following leaders in philanthropy will join the board next year immediately following the Annual Meeting on Health Philanthropy in March.

Patricia Baker is president and CEO of the Connecticut Health Foundation. A longtime women's health advocate, Ms. Baker has served in leadership positions at Planned Parenthood and The Women's Center, as well as the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation and Oxford Health Plans.

Patricia Doykos is director at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation, working on health strategy, as well as leading the foundation's flagship philanthropic program Together on Diabetes: Communities Uniting to Meet America's Diabetes Challenge. Ms. Doykos is an advisory board member of the Dartmouth Center for Health Inequities and serves on the Social Impact Exchange Health Committee.

Octavio Martinez, executive director of the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health, is a licensed psychiatrist and serves as a clinical professor at The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work. In addition, Dr. Martinez serves as an adjunct professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry.

Scott Moyer is president of The Jacob and Valeria Langeloth Foundation, which he first joined in 2000 as a program officer. Mr. Moyer's health field experience includes positions at Planned Parenthood and the Mercer County HIV Care Consortium, where he managed the federally funded Ryan White Title II program.

Additionally, the GIH board reappointed Sarah Iselin of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Robin Mockenhaupt of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to the board. Gail Christopher, Tom David, and Gene Lewit will complete their board terms in March.
