Grantmakers In Health (GIH) is pleased to announce the 11 states that received awards under the GIH State Grant Writing Assistance Fund. The purpose of the fund is to provide matching funds to state and local foundations that offer grant writing support to states to implement various aspects of the Affordable Care Act. The grantees are:
- Community Memorial Foundation (with The Chicago Community Trust), Illinois
- Con Alma Foundation, New Mexico
- Empire Health Foundation, Washington
- Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, Kentucky
- Foundation for the Mid South, Mississippi
- HNH Foundation (with New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and Endowment for Health), New Hampshire
- Maine Health Access Foundation, Maine
- The Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation (with The George Gund Foundation, Saint Luke’s Foundation of Ohio, and The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati), Ohio
- New York State Health Foundation, New York
- Northwest Health Foundation (Oregon)
- Rose Community Foundation (with The Colorado Health Foundation), Colorado
- Virginia Health Care Foundation, Virginia
Grant awards are still available. Applications will be accepted, beginning March 1, 2011, on a rolling basis until the fund is depleted.
