Requests for Proposals
The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust (Sioux Falls, SD)
The Helmsley Charitable Trust's Rural Healthcare Program has launched a new competitive funding opportunity.
Following a 2015 survey of Critical Access Hospitals, its Rural Healthcare Program launched a Request for Proposals in the summer of 2015 to address a top capital need of many hospitals: radiology equipment, particularly the replacement of aging, low-slice CT scanners. The Trust provided 37 hospitals with grants to purchase new CT scanners. Building on the momentum of the first initiative, the Trust is providing an opportunity for hospitals who either have no CT scanner, or have a 16-slice or lower CT scanner. Hospitals in the seven-state funding region may apply for up to $400,000 to purchase a new 32-slice or higher CT scanner through a two-year grant. Letters of Inquiry for this competitive grant application process are due by 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, December 9, 2016.
