At Episcopal Health Foundation (EHF), our vision is to build healthy communities for all by focusing on health beyond the walls of the doctor’s office. In 2024, we launched a new strategic framework that centers on three major action areas: health and health care services, healthy communities, and health policies. Across these areas, we also are prioritizing food and nutrition security, maternal health, and diabetes prevention, as these are critical levers for improving health outcomes in Texas.

Peterson Health Technology Institute (PHTI) recently released a report on virtual musculoskeletal solutions and care for adults with conditions such as low back, knee, hip, shoulder, and neck pain. The assessment outlines virtual, exercise-based physical therapy and recommendations for the health care system.
St. David’s Foundation: July 2024
Two new funding opportunities are available to support organizations engaging in fostering healthier communities and increasing access to health care in Central Texas. The Community Driven Change and We All Benefit open calls will provide one-time, unrestricted grants to eligible organizations, including previous, current, and new grantees.
Health Foundation for Western & Central New York: July 2024
The Imagine Nonviolence: Expand the Reach initiative is designed to support innovative and collaborative programs working to reduce the risk of firearm-related injury and death among pregnant people, children under age five, and older adults in western and central New York.
Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts: July 2024
The Opioid Crisis Innovation Challenge marks an expansion of FORE’s Innovation Program, which was launched in 2022 to support projects that combine strategies from diverse fields and engage multidisciplinary teams in tackling some of the most intractable problems associated with the nation’s opioid-related addiction and poisoning crisis.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation: July 2024
The Special Initiatives grant program provides organizations with a one-time grant of up to $50,000 to pilot or launch a new project over a one-year period. This grant is intended to fund projects that empower communities to advance health equity.
