This country’s safety net health system has always been a place of innovation. The safety net includes community health centers and public hospitals that serve the 100 million patients who either have Medicaid or lack health insurance entirely. With limited resources and patients with complex medical, social, and behavioral health needs, the safety net has long had to innovate out of necessity.

NYSHealth Commits $2 Million for COVID-19 Response Efforts

Telehealth: Connecting People to Care
Whether because of geographic distance in rural areas, being homebound at a residence, a shortage of health care professionals, or lack of transportation, there are a variety of reasons why a consumer might not be able to connect to their health care. Much work has been done to develop solutions to those problems, particularly using approaches that transcend traditional clinical models. Telehealth is one such solution that is gaining traction at an ever-increasing rate.
Reflections On Public-Private Collaborations In Rural Health
Since 2013 annual rural health meetings have become an invaluable forum for discussing how aligned efforts between the federal government and philanthropy can yield better outcomes for communities. Participants gained an increased understanding of the collaborative, sometimes underpublicized, yet often significant work of rural funders—both public and private—and their grantees.
