A new report from the Rockefeller Foundation, “True Cost of Food: Measuring What Matters to Transform the U.S. Food System,” outlines the true cost of food, including the impacts on health, the environment, biodiversity, and livelihoods. Based on the report’s analyses of these and other factors, the true cost of the current U.S. food system is $3.2 trillion per year, and communities of color are disproportionately paying the price.
