During the April 2020 grant cycle application, Mary Black Foundation shifted its focus to support core operating expenses and projects that were responding to the impact of COVID-19 on the community. Additionally, its staff has listened to local nonprofit organizations to learn about the community’s needs during these unprecedented times. It heard three common themes: Basic Needs, Mental Health, and Education and Health Lag.
Due to the increased need in its community, it decided to have a mid-year grant cycle application that will allow Spartanburg, South Carolina nonprofits to apply for funding for either short-term or long-term needs for core operating expenses or projects related to basic needs, mental health, and education and health lag.
