Achieving Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity

April 8, 2014 3:00 pm Eastern Time

In November 2013, the federal government released the final rule for the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act.  Implementation of the new regulations will have a significant impact on access to behavioral health services and treatment.  This webinar provided information on the current status of implementation efforts and highlighted next steps to ensure that the parity law guarantees its intended benefits for the maximum number of people.  The discussion focused on opportunities for philanthropy to help advance behavioral health equity at the local, state, and national levels.  Speakers included: William Emmet of the Kennedy Forum, Elizabeth Myung Sook Krause of the Connecticut Health Foundation, and Tym Rourke of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
