The American Evaluation Association (AEA) is an international association of evaluators devoted to the application and exploration of program evaluation, personnel evaluation, technology, and many other forms of evaluation. AEA’s mission is to improve evaluation practices and methods, increase evaluation use, promote evaluation as a profession, and support the contribution of evaluation to the generation of theory and knowledge about effective human action. AEA has a topical interest group for nonprofit and foundation evaluation. The Web site has information about upcoming meetings and events, publications, and links of interest to evaluators.

Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO) is dedicated to promoting learning and encouraging dialogue among funders committed to building strong and effective nonprofit organizations. GEO’s mission is to maximize philanthropy’s impact by advancing the effectiveness of grantmakers and their grantees. GEO’s Web site has information about upcoming meetings, a newsletter that covers developments in the organizational effectiveness field, research into funder involvement and engagement in organizational effectiveness, publications on foundation and nonprofit effectiveness practices, and resources on organizational effectiveness.

Innovation Network (InnoNet) is a nonprofit organization that builds the evaluation capacity of nonprofits and grantmakers. It provides consulting, training, and Web-based tools for nonprofit program planning and evaluation. InnoNet’s on-line presence allows evaluation tools and resources to be available to nonprofits and funders across program, size, and geographical boundaries. Its public Web site offers on-line evaluation materials, data collection tools, and instruments.
