Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation released a chart pack which provides an overview of the public coverage programs in Massachusetts, explains the key Medicaid and Marketplace provisions in H.R.1, and elevates what is known about how these provisions will impact the coverage landscape and the health care delivery system in Massachusetts.
Drawing on previous foundation policy and research publications as well as other publicly available sources, this chart pack provides a digestible resource for a diverse audience of stakeholders, including policymakers, advocates, providers, and others who work to ensure Massachusetts’s role as a leader in health care coverage and access.
The chart pack includes an overview of the following topics:
- Medicaid eligibility (work requirements, six-month redeterminations, and immigrant coverage restrictions)
- Medicaid financing (provider taxes and state directed payments)
- Marketplace eligibility (including pending changes due to the anticipated expiration of Enhanced Premium Tax Credits)
- Implementation timeline for key H.R.1 health care provisions
- Impacts of H.R.1 on health care coverage, funding, and the delivery system in Massachusetts
A recording of the corresponding webinar is posted on the foundation’s website, and foundation staff are available to present customized versions of the presentation to interested audiences.
